Discover Downsville
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of participating in Discover Downsville, a local community event bringing together artisans, small businesses, and neighbors for a day of fun, food, and creativity.
It was my very first time creating a booth for a craft show, and I’ll admit I wasn’t sure what to expect. Setting up quilts, organizing patterns, and arranging my table felt a little like piecing together a new design: each detail mattered, but the real beauty came together when everything was in place.
I loved reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. People stopped to admire the quilts, share stories about their own projects, and ask questions about the art of quilting. Some were lifelong quilters, others were just beginning, but all were curious about the craft.
What I enjoyed most was the chance to reconnect with our local community. Quilting has always been about more than fabric and thread; it’s about connection, storytelling, and the joy of creating something meaningful with our hands.
I left the event feeling grateful, inspired, and excited for what’s ahead. This was just the beginning, and I’m looking forward to sharing more quilting adventures—both in person and here on the blog.
If you were at Discover Downsville, thank you for stopping by! And if not, I’d love for you to follow along as I continue this quilting journey.
